Silky Oak (Grevillea robusta) is a medium-sized hardwood from the coastal rainforest's of Queensland. It is
straight-grained, has an orange-brown heartwood with prominent darker rays, a silky luster and an oak figure. A beautiful timber to work, this species is now very rare and difficult to obtain, and as a result is often used in the form of veneers. Also known as Lacewood in America.
